Potted History

Born in 1949 at Thornaby-on-Tees in North Yorkshire, England. Went to Queen Street Junior School followed by Arthur Head Secondary Modern School until 1964. Left School at the dizzy age of 15 years old to join Imperial Chemical Industries at Billingham on Teesside. At this point, started my real education in how to earn a living with a five years Apprenticeship as an Electrician. Always upward and mobile moved on to British Steel then back to ICI Research working on Analysers for Radioisotope Instrumentation. From 1979 went to work overseas involved in Instrumentation and Control Systems in the Oil and Gas Industry. Twenty seven years later still enjoying the cut and thrust of Project Management, having worked for Saudi Aramco, Seltrust Engineering (Zambia), Bechtel, Saudi Iron & Steel (Hadeed), Dubal Aluminium, Zakum Development Company and Parsons . Somehow I managed to get myself a City & Guilds Full Tech Certificate, Higher National Certificate plus 3 Endorsements, a BA Degree in 1978 and BSc Honours Degree from the Open University in 1993.

Married to my dear wife Ann for over 36 years with two children and two Grandchildren

General interests are Family History, 1980's Retro Computer Emulation, Borland Delphi Programing, Golf and Travel..
